MT Vikings Ladies A vs Alderley Edge - 27th March @ 1.45pm
24.03.2011

Manx Telecom Vikings Ladies face Alderley Edge in the Semi Finals of the Vase competition this Saturday. The game will take place at Liverpool College as a Vikings home game which means the Cheshire Div 1 team will have to make the short journey across the M56.

After reaching the same stage last year only to go down 2-1 to the eventual winners Vikings know what type of performance they have to put in against Alderley Edge. Alderley are flying high in Cheshire Div 1 and are 15 points clear of their nearest rivals. Having only lost one game this season they will be confident of advancing into the final.

Vikings have had an advantage in the middle of the mixed season by playing together for the two weeks prior to the competition. The first being the quarter-final win against Newcastle Ladies and last week in the semi final of the IOM ladies cup which saw a convincing win against a weakened Valkyers B.

Vikings hope to go one better than last year and advance to the final of the Vase, although everyone will have to be on top form against a strong Alderley Edge side.

Squad: Sarah Pressley GK, Jen Dougal, Hayley Crowe, Kirsty Bowley, Kitty Henry, Eilis Kerford, Suzanne Slater, Louise Slater, Zoe Carney, Sarah Breen, Danielle Coombes, Kim Carney (c), Katie Errock, Karen Faragher and Team Managers Jan Carney and Debbie Shimmin
