England Hockey Women's Trophy

Preston vs Manx Telecom Vikings Ladies A– 27th Nov 2011 12:15pm

Manx Telecom Vikings Ladies travel to West Cliff sports club in Preston to face Preston Ladies in Second round of the Investec England Hockey Women’s Trophy this coming weekend (27th November 2011).

Vikings had a good win over Clitheroe in the last round after stepping up into the Trophy competition this season. Preston are in the league above Clitheroe and are currently lying in 10th in North hockey Div 1. They beat Didsbury Northern 3-2 in last round who lie below Clitheroe in North Div 2 at present.

The Vikings squad will remain unchanged with the exception of Eilis Kerford who is unable to travel and will be replaced by the experienced Beckie O’Brien.

Another good game is in prospect against the relatively unknown Preston side, results so far for Preston are tough to judge having won 4 and lost 6,with some impressive results against the higher teams in the league. Vikings are looking forward to a competitive game and getting back together as a Ladies team as the Manx mixed season runs until Christmas.

Squad: Sarah Pressley GK, Jen Dougal, Hayley Crowe, Kirsty Bowley, Suzanne Slater, Louise Slater, Zoe Carney, Sarah Breen, Beckie O’Brien, Kim Carney (c), Katie Errock, Kirsty Cooper, Sarah Blackman and Team Managers Debbie Shimmin and Jan Carney.
